Social and Ambient responsibility

A humanistic vision follows Guerra since its very foundation reflecting directly on the communities where it operates, by the development of social accountability programs.

In 2009, the company started with the implementation of International Standards: Occupational Health and Safety– OHSAS 18001 – and Social Accountability – SA 8000.

In June 2009 the company launched Escola Formare Guerra, a technical school aimed at the professional development of teenagers from lower income families offering a program for Production Operator and Assembling of Road Implements.

Students have technical classes which are complemented with disciplines for personal development and citizenship, in addition to medical care, transport, group insurance, and a monthly-based assistantship.

Classes take place in the company’s premises and are given by the employees themselves, who have received pedagogical training and act as volunteer educators during the courses.

Environmental preservation is present in the conception of its products na on the technology applied.

The conception of new products and productive processes is focused on clean technologies and the destination of solid, liquid and gas effluents excel the requirements of environmental federal, state and municipal laws.

In 2005 the company was the first in the sector of implements to operate with the powder painting system for trailers and semi-trailers, developed by Guerra’s own engineering department.

The process gives more quality to the product and preserves the environment. Surface treatment is performed with steel-grit blasting, considered as more ecological than the traditional method with degreasant.

Powder paint homologated is organic – free from heavy metals in its composition – and the loss in the process is of 0.2% only (in liquid paints loss can be up to 50%). The result is an even painting, with greater resistance for impact and weathering.

In 2009, the company started with the implementation of the International Standard for environmental quality ISO 14001.
